Why?
This year there is not an "official" organization for the Bicycle Commuter Challenge, and I wanted to fill the void so that momentum continues until an official program is revived in 2007.
In the past, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) has organized an annual Bicycle Commuter Challenge as part of the national Bike to Work Week initiative. This year MARC decided to solicit proposals from community groups interested in taking over the program, but unfortunately there wasn't enough time for interested groups to develope and implement a quality program.
What?
This is meant to be a simple for teams or individuals to log commuting miles for 2006. There are no prizes, awards, or parting gifts except for the pure glory of the rankings.
The idea here is log your miles to and from work during Bike to Work Week. Like I said, I can't offer prizes, but you will be able to see how you and/or your team rank against the other participants.
Questions/Problems?
