I hope they don't mess up the road for motorists like what happened on the Heart of America Bridge! That bridge was great in the fact that it was very wide with plenty of shoulder for motorists needing to pull over. Now look at it! If a car stalls or gets a flat, it creates a very bad situation. What were they thinking?!
I'm sure biking enthusiasts were pleased. But those are in the MINORITY. Think how this has caused potential problems for drivers. AND who had to foot the bill? Bikers or tax payers? Is there a toll for the bike lane? Irritates me everytime I go over the bridge.

I like the new Longview Lake trail. It appears to be comprised of some type of crushed rock. It is also much wider than the original paved trail. I like running on it because it's easier on the joints than asphalt. There are two downsides: 1) When it rains, it pools in certain areas, making running/walking a challenge. 2) The surface is very uneven at times.

Cyclists should be warned that this trail will only accommodate mountain bikes. Road bike tires will have an extremely challenging time riding on this new surface.

I think this is a great idea. I believe cycling is the greatest way to bring a community together, learn together, get healthy together and bring some diversity to the means of transportation we have.

The bicycle may not be an all-weather option, but every time you pedal and leave the car in the drive-way mother earth heals a little more, the ozone layer is well on it's way to catching it's breathe.

Please let me know if you need any mechanics, I'd be happy to volunteer my time to this cause.

I strongly advise avoiding the Wheeler Downtown Airport Loop. It's way too dangerous now. Low shoulders, Lots of Speed Bumps, Lots of traffic, Crazy angery drivers. Quite a few cyclist have been hit. Not to mention I think we wore our welcome out because of a few novice riders not yelding to traffic at the round abouts by the Broadway Bridge Ramps. Doesn't matter, it's a pretty lame ride anyway, not challanging at all, kind of a sissy's path if you ask me. Beside, you can only look at the airplane so much.. Riverfront Path is much better and much much safer. I would rather ride down the middle lane of I-70 before going back to the Airport Loop!!

With our overwhelming national debt, is this really what we need to be spending money on at this time? I drive to and from work along Merriam Drive and Southwest Blvd. every day. I see one to two bicyclists on that road, and they're not even there every day. Maybe the feds should stop funding these kinds of wasteful projects and pay down our staggering debt!

I've been surfing online more than three hours these days, yet I never discovered any interesting article like yours. It's pretty price enough for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made just right content material as you did, the net shall be much more useful than ever before.
