The City of KCMO is developing a master plan for a city-wide network of trails for bicyclists, pedestrians, and even equestrians. While the emphasis is on multi-use trails along stream corridors, the plan will include a substantial portion of on-street bike routes in the urban core and other developed areas.
This week the city is [...]

Line Creek Trail meeting

KCMO is planning for a new multi-use trail along Line Creek and Second Creek in the Northland. It’s part of a longer MetroGreen corridor that will eventually extend from the Missouri River in Riverside up to Smithville. Thursday night you can attend an open house to learn more about the proposed trail.

The city of KCMO is in the process of planning for a city-wide system of trails for bicyclists, pedestrians, and equestrians.  This plan would focus on creating priority east/west and north/south corridors for both recreation and transportation.  It would build on existing plans like BikeKC, MetroGreen, and the city’s walkability plan, but hopefully provide an [...]

Riverfront Trail Progress

A key barrier in the middle of the Riverfront Heritage Trail is about to be removed with construction of a ramp under the ASB Bridge and BNSF railroad. The ASB Underpass will finally connect Berkley Riverfront Park with the Town of Kansas Bridge and trail to the west. The Port Authority has cobbled [...]

Vivion Trail

At the recent Missouri Trails Summit I sat in on a presentation on the new Vivion Trail, a multi-use trail being built alongside Vivion Road. This road is a major east-west artery through the Northland, but it's unimproved without shoulders, curbs, sidewalks, etc. The addition of bike/ped facilities is long overdue.
The long-term vision [...]
