Christmas in the Sky is a fireworks display to kick off Christmas in the Park, Jackson County’s annual holiday light display at Longview Lake. This year the swell folks at The Bicycle Shack are leading a group ride around the lake to check out the fireworks and lights.

The Major Taylor Foundation of Greater KC has a new Sunday breakfast ride starting at 9:00 a.m. from the Chubby’s diner at 38th and Broadway in Midtown.

Localcycling.com’s popular Monday night recovery ride is moving to a new location… Tienda Casa Paloma at 82nd and Metcalf in The OP.
If you don’t have plans yet for Saturday, please consider heading out to Mid-Missouri for BikeMO, the Missouri Bicycle Federation’s annual fund-raising ride. It’s a great ride through scenic, rolling hills of rural Callaway County, and it supports MBF’s ongoing lobbying and education efforts to make Missouri more bicycle-friendly.

Yesterday’s Tour of Champions ride was a smashing success. Organizers where blown away by the tournout. Anywhere between 600 and 1000 people showed up to ride the Tour of Missouri’s Stage 1 course and support Eldon Rousch. The Podium Cafe blog has some photos.
While the Tour of Missouri’s Stage 1 on Tuesday is the biggest thing happening, there are many other rides and events around the region this fall…
