Race: Cycloross National Championships

The cyclocross national championships return to Kansas City for the second year in a row. For 2008 the event is moving from KCK to KCMO, specifically to Tiffany Springs Park, just south of the KCI Airport. Be sure to check out this world-class event and see some great races up close and personal.

Directions: Use this map to get directions to NW Hampton Road and NW Tiffany Park Road. The park is most easily access from Hwy 152, whichs east/west across the Northland. The park is just north of the Hampton Road exit. From the city, take I-29 north to Hwy 152 west. From the eastern suburbs, take I-435 north to Hwy 152 west. From the western suburbs, take I-435 north to Hwy 152 east.

Mud and Blood Ball party and Zero Traction Movie Premier

The Mud and Blood Ball is the official kick-off party for the Cyclocross National Championships, which return to Kansas City for the second year in a row. The party will feature the premiere of Zero Traction, a new cyclocross film that was produced during the 2007 national championship.

Sentencing of Robert Osborn’s killer

This is the sentencing of one of the people who shot and killed Robert Osborn while he was bicycling home from work in November 2005. The 10:00 a.m. time is approximate and can change based on the court’s docket.

KanBikeWalk Annual Meeting

Public Hearing: Trails KC plan

The Trails KC plan for a city-wide network of trails will be on the agenda at the City Council’s Planning & Zoning Committee. At this time it is not known where this will fall on the docket for this meeting.

A bike rack is located on the south side of the building, just to the right of the 12th Street entrance. Car parking is available in the public garage on the northwest corner of 12th and Oak.
