Uncertainty over federal transportation funding has caused MoDOT to delay opening bids on several projects, including the bike/ped retrofit on the Chouteau Bridge over the Missouri River. Hopefully the delay will be short-lived and not impact the scheduled construction start in May.

MoDOT is putting bike lanes and multi-use trails on the Chouteau Bridge over the Missouri River.  Tuesday evening there is an open house where you can get the details and provide feedback. See our earlier post for more information.

Great news for Kansas Citians who need to cross the Missouri River on foot or bicycle.  The Missouri Departmetn of Transportation has announced that it will retrofit the Chouteau Bridge with bike lanes and barrier-separated paths by the end of 2010. Monday evening the Missouri Department of Transportation will host a public open house to preview the new bicycle and pedestrian path being designed for the Heart of America Bridge over the Missouri River.  Drop in anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Mid-America Regional Council, 600 Broadway Boulevard if Downtown KCMO.
