Contact your Congressional reps in support of local cyclists at the National Bike Summit

This week KCBike.Info is on a train to Washington, DC to join a large Kansas City delegation to the National Bike Summit.  You can help us by taking a couple of minutes contact your own Congressional representatives.

This year we have the largest KC delegation in history, with more than 10 people from Midtown, Waldo, Raytown, the Northland, Olathe, Lenexa, and Overland Park. We’ll be meeting Missouri and Kansas members of Congress to talk about the importance of bicycling for our nation’s health, economy, and environment.  Over the years these visits have been very helpful in advancing local projects like the Heart of America Bridge bike/ped retrofit.

Can you get our backs by taking two minutes to contact your own members of Congress? Go here to look up your members and send an email to all of them at once.

All it takes is a brief message along the lines of “I’m one of your constituents and support the work of the Kansas City delegation visiting your office this week for the National Bike Summit.  Federal transportation funding for bicycle infrastructure has been very helpful for making my city safer and more accessible, and I hope you can also support it.”
