While an attempt to ban bikes near St. Louis is making national news, a city closer to home has just chosen to retain a long-standing bicycle ban. De Soto in the far western suburbs has long banned bikes on 83rd Street, and last week their City Council broke a promise to lift the ban after the road was improved.
