Congressman Cleaver to break ground on Riverfront Trail segment, dedicate Freedom Mall sculptures

On Saturday US Congressman Emanuel Cleaver will break ground on the “Freedom Trail” – a segment of the Riverfront Heritage Trail that will finally link the trail across the state line and combine existing sections in KCK and KCMO.  The Congressman will also be dedicating the “Freedom Mall” art installation by local sculptor Ed Hogan.  One of the many pieces of public art along the trail, Freedom Mall honors the slaves who escaped over the border into Kansas in the 1800s.
