HOA Bridge groundbreaking and start of construction!

Great news! Kansas City is taking a big step forward towards a safe crossing of the Missouri River.  Construction will soon start on MoDOT’s project to retrofit the Heart of America Bridge with a barrier-separated bicycle and pedestrian path by the end of this year.  Join local government officials and other bicyclists for the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday. Spread the word so we can turn show MoDOT a big crowd of supporters for this bridge.

The HOA project will connect Downtown KCMO with North Kansas City via the Route 9/Burlington/North Oak corridor.  And this isn’t all.  Later this spring MoDOT will start work on a second bridge retrofit, on the Chouteau Bridge.

See MoDOT’s HOA project page for more info and construction updates going forward.
