Bike KC Event Assistant (Stipend available)
Assist staff with planning and coordinating regional activities and events to promote bicycling and walking for transportation. Events include: Bike Week, the Car Free Challenge, Sunday Parkways, City of Fountains Bicycle Tour and National Trails Day. Intern will work with local advocates, municipal staff, businesses and others to determine health, wellness and safety education events/activities locations, dates, times. Utilize social marketing principles to develop events and activities that will encourage participation.
Desired background: communications/marketing, health, social work, environmental studies, public administration, or event planning. Love of all things bicycling!
Require 6 – 8 hours per week for 13 weeks, starting May 3rd to July 30th.
