Family Bicycles in Waldo is bringing back their winter film festival with many more movies.  Every other Monday through March will feature a great bike-themed movie like The Bicycle Thief; The Triplets of Belleville; Blood, Sweat, and Gears; and more.  Just bring your own chair.

Sunday’s Grote Prijs Shawnee is the last race of the local Cyclocross season, and it looks like the weather might warm up to a respectable temperature just in time for it.

Sunday’s Grojte Pris Cyclocross race got a bit of TV news love on NBC station KSHB-TV, including a star turn by localcycling.com’s Mark Thomas.

A vital and long-awaited piece of the Riverfront Heritage Trail is finally opening this week.  The ASB underpass carries the trail under the ASB Bridge and its railroad tracks, finally uniting Berkley Park on the east with the Town of Kansas Bridge and River Market neighborhood on the west.

KDOT is conducting a major transportation study on the future of transportation on the Kansas side of the metro area.  This is a critical opportunity to ask for KDOT to better integrate bicycling, walking, and transit into the transportation system.

February 16th is the Missouri Bicycle and Pedestrian Federation’s annual Capitol Day.  It is MBF’s biggest advocacy event, and an excellent opportunity to meet your legislators and talk about how pedestrian and bicycle issues relate to sustainable transportation, health and fitness, recreation, economic development, access to jobs, etc.
