I still have the news clipping from when this all took place... it's been a LONG time.... so long, that I actually NEVER have gotten to ride this section of road. When I was first getting into road cycling, and got up the distance gall to even consider it, the "incident" occurred -- if I remember right, the Warbird and I were going to ride it later that same month. Now, it's finally time... and time to probably plan a brevet route that heads out to Lawrence and beyond, to immortalize it. Thanks for the good news! Excellent!
