Local organizers of the KC stage of the Tour of Missouri are soliciting public donations to cover their expenses. It costs about $150,00o for things like police, logistics, etc. While the race has attracted sponsorship from big national companies and St. Louis businesses, it has struggled to engage Kansas City companies to particpate in the event and help pay for local expenses.
