ASB Underpass to fix big gap in Riverfront Heritage Trail

Update: The city has posted video of the ground-breaking ceremony.

Today local officials held a ground-breaking ceremony for a project that will fill in a big gap in the Riverfront Heritage Trail.  A new underpass at the ASB Bridge will finally connect Berkley Park with the Riverfront West area, including the Town of Kansas Bridge that leads up to the River Market neighborhood. The new trail segment is due to be open for use by the end of this year.

The $3 Million project is being funded by the City of Kansas City, MO, Ameristar Casino, Federal grants, and private donations.
