City Council approves Bike/Ped Action Plan

Today the KCMO City Council approved the city's first official action plan for making the city more bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly. The plan contains dozens of steps to be taken during the 2009-2010 fiscal year.  In addition trail and bike lane projects that have already been funded, there are goals for better policy, expanded educational programs, and such. This plan is the city's first significant step towards the goal of becoming designated as a Platinum level Bike Friendly City by 2020.
