This weekend there is a party to kickoff the Tour de Cure, a fund raising ride for the America Diabetes Association. It’s Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Grinders. Here is the notice from the association’s Christie Hammond, including RSVP info:
Don’t forget about the Tour de Cure Kick-off Party this Saturday, March 21! Bring friends & family!
Register a new Tour de Cure cyclist* at the Kick-off and your name and theirs will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card to a restaurant of your choice in the Kansas City Power & Light District! For each new registrant you bring, you’ll receive another entry into the drawing!
*The new Tour de Cure cyclist must not have registered for the 2008 Kansas City Tour de Cure event.
Where: Grinders – 417 E. 18th St. (between Locust & Oak in the Crossroads District) KCMO 64108
Time: 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. (program starts at 2:00 p.m.)

Post-kickoff ride: At 3:00 p.m. you have the option to go across the street to join Acme Bicycle Co. for an urban adventure! This is a casual, relaxed, non-supported ride. The route is determined day-of by those who choose to ride. There is a new route every week and no one is left behind. About 10 mph and no more than 20 miles. See interesting places every week.
