If you spend any time in Westport you might have noticed some new U-Racks popping up around the neighborhood. Westport businesses are spending over $1 million on a big streetscape project, and it includes the new bike racks. Most feature a kokopelli-esque design, but some near coffee houses include a coffee mug design. So far most of the racks are scattered along Pennsylvania, with more along Broadway near the Broadway Cafe. Plus some regular non-arty racks along the alley in front of Buzzard Beach.
The new racks compliment bike parking already provided by several private businesses in Westport, and it is a great development for what is arguably the most popular part of the city for bicyclists. You can see exactly where they are on the KCBike.Info parking map.
