The route for the 2009 Tour of Missouri was just announced today. The big news is that the race will be reversing course this year, starting in St. Louis and finishing here in KC. This means we won’t be seeing the teams practicing around the city in the days before the race, and the women’s crit moves to St Louis. However, we will get to witness the awesome finish circuit on the hills of Kansas City instead of on the flatlands of our neighbors to the east. The race will start September 7th in STL and finish September 13th in KC.
Other cities on the west side of the state include St. Joseph, Chillicothe, and Sedalia. Rounding out the route are St. Genevieve, Cape Girardeau, Farmington, Rolla, St. James, and Jefferson City. Detailed route maps for each stage will be released later this spring.
