Jack Wilson is an August Car-Free Challenge Winner

Jack Wilson has won the drawing for this month’s prize in the Car-Free KC Challenge, a gift certificate for Leawood Bicycles. Jack is even more famous, having recently been featured on the front page of the Star. September’s winner is coming up soon, have you been logging your miles this month?

Where do you live? Overland Park

Where do you work? Kansas City MO, Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company

Where do you commute? Either the Indian Creek Bike Trail; 6.2 miles each way, but closed at Roe currently. Or residential neighborhood streets; 4.4 miles each way

What do you ride to work? Trek 7100 Hybrid, w/panniers (saddle bags on rear wheel)

How long have you been commuting on your bike, and how did you get started? Purchased bike June 2007. Rode for recreation and for errands (grocery store, etc). Started commuting May 2008 during the Bike Week Car-Free Challenge

What facilities does your employer provide, if any? Bike rack. Showers / workout facility at one of our other buildings, but not at mine—I just ride slow enough in the morning below the sweat point.
