This very welcome news has been a long time in coming, but it's still very good to hear. This Friday the City of Riverside and the Platte County Parks & Rec. will officially open the first segment of their Missouri Riverfront Trail. This brand new trail sits up on the new Quindaro Bend levee that wraps around Riverside and the Argosy Casino, from US 69 to Burlington Creek.
In the future, a westward extension will connect to English Landing Park in Parkville, and eventually all the way to Weston. An eastward extension will link to a new north/south trail along Line Creek and around the Downtown Airport to Downtown KCMO.

Great news. I have been looking forward to this for a couple of years.
Does this mean that I could some day ride across the Fairfax bridge, jump on the levee and ride most of the way into Parkville without having to get on 9?
Yes, someday we will have a car-free route directly to the Power Plant Brewery. I cannot wait for that day
Stumbled onto the trail last week and did a 5 mile run. I am really excited to have something like this in KC.
Is there a map available showing mileage for this trail?
Thank you.
