Several news outlets have reported a bicyclist hit this morning at 119th and Mission Road in Leawood, KS. While the injuries are serious, it sounds like he will survive. It also sounds like the motorist might have been at fault for making a left turn without yielding to oncoming traffic.

Check out the KC area’s newest mountain biking and hiking trail. There will be food, local bike shops, and two miles of beginner-friendly singletrack trail.

Saturday June 7th is National Trail Day, and there are several events in Kansas City and surrounding suburbs. Take this great opportunity to check out many of the great trails aorund the region, and find out about new trails on the horizon.

[ June 8, 2008; ] The American Diabetes Association’s annual fundraiser ride returns with on a new date and with a new century ride. It’s a great ride through the beautiful rolling hills of Platte County.
This ride is also an advocacy event for the Missouri Bicycle Federation, so a portion of the proceeds will go towards improving bicycling in Missouri.

Last week the KCMO City Council unanimously approved an ordinace to establish a Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee to help the city become more bike/ped-friendly.
