Join a community-wide conversation about how we can create safe routes for cycling and encourage residents to bike for transportation, fitness and fun. Andy Clarke, President of the League of American Bicyclists and Rebecca Anderson, Advocacy Director for Trek Bicycles will be speaking on creating a bicycle-friendly Kansas City region. This event is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is appreciated to ewaterman@marc.org or 816-474-4240.
Bicycle Friendly Communities is a national program that recognizes cities that have taken steps promote cycling through infrastructure, policy, law, education, etc. Shawnee, KS is the first and only city in the KC region to have attained the Bike Friendly designation, but hopefully many more will follow.
