KC Climate Action Coalition

Two years ago KCMO Mayor Kay Barnes signed onto the US Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, an initiative of local governments to tackle to the climate change issues that the Federal government refuses to acknowledge.  Last year new mayor Mark Funkhouser and the mayors of many suburban communities also signed the agreement.

KCMO has been working through a huge community process to write a climate protection plan, and a group of interested people are forming a coalition to monitor the process and encourage the entire region to join.

You can learn more about the KC Climate Action Coalition on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Waldo Branch of the KC Public Library (201 East 75th Street, map).

We already know that cycling is the greenest form of transportation, so let’s spread the word.
