New Paseo Bridge Unveiled
Published November 14th, 2007 in BridgesToday MoDOT released plans for the Paseo Bridge replacement, to be known as the Christopher S. Bond Bridge. As promised, the design allows for a bike/ped lane to be added in the future, once there are levee trails for it to connect to.
The choice of a cable-stayed bridge means that the road bed has to be build wide enough from the beginning. The chosen design has a southbound shoulder that can be converted to a bike/pedway with the addition of a barrier and fencing. Once a trail is built along the north levee we will need to find local money to install the barrier and build ramps up to the bridge.
