Last night a 17 year-old Independence bicyclist was hit and killed by a car fleeing from police. The car had been involved in another hit-and-run just minutes before. Police were able to catch the killers and they are in jail facing several felony charges. The police identified the bicyclist as Christopher Cooper, a junior at Truman High School. The location was on Noland Road at Osage, just north of Truman High School.

i’m sick to my stomach hearing about this happening so often.
we need bike lanes and driver awareness initiatives NOW.
i normally don’t harp too much on the stick in the mud attitudes of the midwest, but when your reluctance to progress means people are DYING and being physically and verbally harassed, change needs to be immediate and focused.
