Englewood Road
Published November 5th, 2007 in Advocacy, planningThere is a public meeting tonight regarding the widening of NW Englewood west of US 169. This street is on the city’s BikeKC plan, but I have heard that the city intends build a potentially hazardous sidepath trail, instead of bike lanes.
As many of you know, statistics show that trails alongside roads are often dangerous and have higher incidences of car-on-bike crashes than proper on-street bike lanes. Such facilities also violate accepted national standards in the transportation planning industry. Read more about the issue at http://mobikefed.org/2007/03/facts-and-research-about-bicycle.php
