Finally, at long last, dangerous storm drains and grates the one at the right are an endangered species.  New KCMO Bike/Ped Coordinator Deb Ridgway has been hard at work jump-starting the long-delayed BikeKC plan, which includes a big project to replace dangerous storm drains.

The Water Department is currently soliciting bids on three contracts to replace these drains and grates all over the city.  So, it shouldn’t be much longer until we start seeing some tangible progress on BikeKC and getting some safer streets.  (If you are interested, the bid documents can be viewed here).
