Tour TV

KMBC-TV has two big reports on the Tuesday’s Tour of Missouri Stage 1 in KC.  First is an overview of the entire day.  Second is a profile of Parkville’s preparations for the race, including a thousand cowbells.

KCBC/JCBC Joint Ride and Picnic

[ October 14, 2007; 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. ] The Kansas City and Johnson County Bicycle Clubs hold an annual fall ride and picnic at Swope Park.   The ride starts at 10:30 a.m. and the picnic follows.

Cranksgiving

[ November 18, 2007; 2:00 pm; ] This is an alleycat race with a higher purpose - collecting Thanksgiving supplies for a local soup kitchen.

Octoginta

[ October 6, 2007 7:00 am to October 7, 2007 1:00 pm. ] This two day ride event features rides on both days, a swap meet, and an antique bike demonstration.  Everything goes down in and around Lawrence, Kansas.

Tour of the Ozarks

[ September 22, 2007; 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. ] This benefit for diabetes charity showcases Old Route 66, the Mark Twain National Forest, and some of Missouri’s quietest, most scenic roads. 12, 25, 50, and 100 routes with full SAG support all start and end in Rolla.

Bike for the Brain

[ September 30, 2007; 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. ] Bike for the Brain is an annual ride that raises awareness of mental illness and raises funs for local mental health organizations.  B4B offers a 1 mile walk/ride and bike ride options for 10, 25, 50, or 62.5 miles.

All rides start at 6000 Lamar Avenue in Mission, Kansas.
