This week the city will begin public meetings on its new planning, zoning, and parking ordinance. Included in this is section that will require bike parking for most businesses, schools, libraries, etc. If you’ve ever been in Chicago, Portland, Denver, etc and noticed bike racks in front of every video store, supermarket, or office building, then you have an idea of what is in store for Kansas City if this proposal is adopted.

It is very important for bicyclists to show up and these meetings, learn more about the proposal, and voice your support for it. This is something new for KC, so it is critical for our City Council members to know that the voters support it.
