The Share the Road Safety Task Force was formed last year in response to a bad run of bicycle and pedestrian fatalities. Representatives from governments, non-profits, advocates, and others have joined together to promote safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists.

KCTV-5 is reporting that the Micheal Hammond has died of injuries sustained in the crash on Saturday. An anonymous source tells me that reports indicate the motorist broke no traffic laws, but the police are still investigating to determine the exact nature of the crash.
KSHB-TV 41 has a report and video of bicyclist hospitalized after a nasty crash with and SUV at Independence and Brooklyn Avenues in the Old Northeast. There are conflicting reports on the circumstances of the crash, and an investigation is underway.
