[ July 4, 2007; 8:00 am to 11:00 am. ] Join the Turtles for a slow-paced, 8-10 mile ride to the Prairie Village pancake breakfast. They leave at 8:00 a.m. from the Brookside south parking lot – south of 63rd Street behind the tennis courts.
The Turtles are informal club of older and older-at-heart folks that ride at a moderate pace and welcome all riders.

This Sunday the Kansas City Bicycle Club has their annual Northland Delight ride. It’s a challenging, hilly ride through beautiful hills, woods, and fields of Clay and Platte Counties – including Smithville Lake. The ride includes 25, 50, 62, and 100 mile options, all starting in Liberty’s Bennett Park.

This weekend KC’s bike action is all up in God’s Country, the Northland. While the roadies will be at the Northland Delight on Sunday, the dirties will be at Smithville Lake on for the Lunatic Fringe mountain bike race. It’s part of the ongoing Midwest Fat Tire Championship Series.
Yesterday The Star published a guest column from a local clergyman who recently started commuting by bike from his home in Leawood to is church in KC’s Red Bridge neighborhood.
