Today for National Trails Day the Platte County Parks Department offered a sneak peek of a future trail along the north bank of the Missouri River. The trail will soon run from the Argosy Casino in Riverside up to Parkville. Eventually it will be extended on either end to link the Downtown Airport north to Weston. Much of the trail between Riverside and Parkville is in place, but the county is still working on final agreements with the levee district and some businesses along the trail. Platte County hopes to begin opening parts of the trail later this year.

On personal note, I must confess I am eagerly awaiting a direct route from Downtown to the Power Plant Brewery in Parkville…
