This evening about 120 cyclists rode in silence to honor those who have been killed or injured while bicycling. It was quite an experience, especially when KC Bike Club’s Laurie Chipman read the names of the 28 local cyclists who have died since 1991. It was also a powerful reminder for bicyclists and motorists to share the road safely. Kudos to KCBC members for escorting the ride and keeping everyone safe. Special thanks to KCMO Councilmembers Beth Gottstein and Jan Marcason for attending the pre-ride ceremony and lending their support for safe transportation options for all Kansas Citians.
