EarthRiders trailmeister Rob Stitt sends word that recent elections have had a bit of an impact on the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department. Jackson County has historically had one of the country’s largest county parks systems. In recent years the county has worked with EarthRiders volunteers to create some of the best mountain bike trails in the country at places like Landahl Park and Blue River Parkway.

Now would be a good time write the new County Executive Mike Sanders and your own County Legislator to express support for these trails and ask for continued county support for the Parks & Rec Department. Read more here.
