Demand bike facilities on 150 Hwy
Published March 6th, 2007 in Advocacy
Despite much discussion with the bicycle community, MoDOT has decided not to include bicycle facilities on the upcoming widening of Route 150 in the southern suburbs. Not even a paved shoulder. Nothing but “share the road” signs on what will end up being a high-speed highway. They claim a “budget crunch” even though they are flush with Amendment 3 money and in the midst of the biggest road construction boom in the history of Missouri.
Again and again MoDOT continues to make bike/ped the first thing cut. It is time for this to stop. The Missouri Bicycle Federation has organized a campaign for 150 and needs your help. Please take 2 minutes to email MoDOT at www.mobikefed.org/Route150.
