Jackson County is proposing a new multi-use trail to link the towns of Buckner and Sibley in the north part of the county. The 3 mile trail would mostly parellel Buckner-Tarsney Road and include the Fort Osage historic site on the Missouri River. The route is generally flat and runs through open country. The biggest obstacle might be squeezing onto the road bridge over a set of three train tracks just south of Fort Osage.

In the future this trail would connect to two proposed MetroGreen routes. One would be a trail along the lenght of the Missouri River from Levasy to Downtown KCMO. The other would be along the Little Blue River between Sibley and the current terminus of the Little Blue Trace trail at US 24 Hwy in northern Independence.

Since Jackson County has no dedicated funding for trails, this plan is likely to sit on the shelf until money is found somewhere.
