The largest sporting event in the history of Missouri
Published February 8th, 2007 in Racing
That’s how Lt. Governor Pete Kinder described the Tour of Missouri at today’s press conference announcing the host cities. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to be here in September, more than any Superbowl, World Series, Final Four, or other sporting event ever held in Missouri.
It all starts here in KC and travels the state before ending under the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. In May we should know the detailed route, pass-through cities and towns, and the names of teams and racers. One we do know is Missouri native Dan Schmatz, who spoke at today’s press conference along with fellow Missourian Kevin Livingston.
