The Missouri Bicycle Federation reports that next year's inaugural Tour of Missouri has just been awarded a 2.1 rating by the UCI, making it one of the top 3 races in the US and one of the highest rated in North and South America.

Yes, the UCI (International Cycling Union) rating relates to the difficulty, length, etc of the race. Higher rated races give the cyclists more points, prize money, etc. and therefore attract more elite racers.
