Safe Routes to School is a national initiative to increase the number children walking and biking to school. Both the Missouri and Kansas Departments of Transportation are starting local Safe Routes to School programs whereby schools and community groups can get apply for grant money for things like educational programs and sidewalk and street improvements.  Local training starts on November 14 and 16.
