Liberty responds to bike crashes with amnesty for motorists
Published August 31st, 2006 in Advocacy, suburbsYesterday Liberty experienced two separate but serious bicycle crashes, something that I think is probably unprecedented for a suburb of this size. Today's actions by the Liberty city government are very ironic. Instead of responding to the bike crashes with a commitment to improve the cycling environment in the community, the city is granting amnesty to motorists with outstanding arrest warrants.
In Liberty you can run over a cyclist on Wednesday and get your arrest warrant forgiven on Thursday.
