Today was a bad day for cyclists in the Northland suburb of Liberty, MO, where two separate but very serious crashes sent cyclists to the hospital.

This morning a pre-school teacher and regular bike commuter was struck from behind on Main Street at Hwy 291. She is currently in critical condition and not expected to live. (Star story)

This afternoon a cyclist reportedly ran a stop sign and collided with a car, sending both himself and the motorist to the hospital. (KMBC-TV 9 story and video)
