Johnson Drive might go on a diet

A road diet, that is. Clearing the Air reports that the city of Mission, KS is considering a proposal to increase the walkability of it's main drag by narrowing the road and widening sidewalks. The Main Street feel along Johnson Drive makes Mission one of the more tolerable suburbs in the metro area, and making it even more pedestrian friendly would definitely be a boost. It would also be a nice complement to mixed-used/New Urban developments planned for either end of the road. More info from the Star.
