This venerable local institution was in danger of extinction earlier this year when the city decided to drop funding for the Cliff Drive Classic portion of the event. Fortunately a local marketing company and Team X Cycling and the Boulevard and SKC racing teams stepped up to take over.
So the Tour of Kansas City returns for its 44th year on August 12th and 13th. If you just want to watch the action, Party on the Hill (PDF) is a new, free event on Cliff Drive sponsored by Boulevard Brewing, La Bodega, and re:Verse.
