Lenexa cops crack down on Midnight Bike Ride
Published July 16th, 2006 in Rides, eventsLast night's Lenexa Midnight Bike Ride is probably one of the bigger events in the area, with over a thousand riders. This year the Lenexa cops went crazy on some folks, harassing people, detaining them, issuing ticekts, etc. Some folks did have beer, but everyone was still very respectful and riding safe. It was actually the out of control kids and clueless newbies causing the most safety hazards. Anyway, it's the hot topic over on the EarthRiders forums.

I was there and I didn’t see anyone causing trouble. But I did see hundreds of people with no clue about how to ride, rules of the road, etc. It was really quite dangerous. I have several very close calls with kids and even some adults. We’re lucky there weren’t any serious injuries.
